Ok…we all LOVE the Deadly Dames "Tie Me Up" dress, right? So how dose one wear it in cooler weather? The straps although cute, can be a problem when pairing it with a shrug or cardigan. Since my purchase of the beautiful dress back in September, I've only been able to wear it twice before the late autumn/early winter weather started up. Since then, I would occasionally stop and think about how I could possibly make it work outside of the warmer summery temperatures.
Wasn't until today (after conversing with Michelle Boutilier) that I thought maybe I'll play around with some ideas…. sort of a "dress up" session :) Turns out the answer was in my closet the whole time. A cropped black CatWalk Studio cardigan that I've purchased from PinupGirlClothing.com a couple of years ago (on sale, I might add) ;) First I tried to wear the cardigan along the outside of the bows while tied up (the bows, mind you… .not me LOL). That didn't feel right, so I figured my only option would be to tie the straps in a knot, but let the straps hang down.
The cardigan stops at about the same place the empire waist of the dress stops... perfect. Then after the cardigan was buttoned it didn't take much re-adjusting of the straps to make sure there would be no uncomfortable bulk anywhere. The straps weren't long enough to show at the bottom either. Worked out great! :)
Then from there I simply add some stockings! These happen to be the plus size black back seam fashion thigh highs by George, which I'm sure as most of you know…I've been raving about all over PinupGirl Style :)
So there you have it.. finally figured out a way to make the hot "Tie Me Up" dress even warmer! :)
