The swap/sell section is a great place for those looking to make room for the new, while helping others evolve their style. All this goodness going on while possibly making or saving some cash to boot. Although I've read some tales about PUG clothing bought for personal use that for one reason or another, doesn't end up getting worn at all! Sad :( Sure, some things are more situation appropriate like work clothing vs. "street clothes". Fashion is also about experimenting and finding what works for your expression of self and lifestyle. So not everything you try will work out. To not wear it at all though? I don't understand it :/ Why not make it worth the time, effort and money spent? Beautiful clothing should to be worn, so if the dress.. or separate fits… wear it!
Coming from a background of limited means has taught me to spend very carefully. A skill that has served me well in many areas. Though since I'm talking about clothing, I'll use my PUG buying process as an example:) As some of you may know, I love my research. Or more to the point, what the research gives back to me. Knowledge to make an informed decision. When I find an item I'm interested in, the research begins. Reviews are read, questions are asked, size charts are studied, and when ever possible, past experience factors in. When I make my decision and funds allow, I'll make my order (usually the latter that takes the longest), Then of course, anxiously wait. When my package finally arrives the fitting session starts immediately! :) If it fits and looks hot, it's a keeper :D If it unfortunately doesn't fit or doesn't work out for some other reason, I get right on the process of sending it back to it's original home. As for the keepers, they become part of my everyday life being shown off on a regular basis. Worn in the most unlikely of places some may think!
No matter how much I emphasize that PUG can be worn pretty much anywhere, I still get shocked responses from time to time. I was speaking in live chat one night with a friend who admired the dress I had recently bought from PUG, but brought up that she wouldn't know what to wear it to. I simply told her… anywhere! I then told her about my trip to Walmart a few days prior, wearing this particular dress. Her response was a happy hopeful one! :) As for the dress she admired so much…..she's made the leap and now has one of her own! I'm happy for her :) When things like that happen it's cute and funny at the same time:) Although it makes me wonder why there was doubt in the first place. A concern of many it seems. Is it fear of public response? If so, does it (in some cases) tie into what I mentioned above about PUG neglect? Fear of public response and lack of confidence took me years to get over, I just got to the point where I no longer care what others think i.e. the negative reactions that may come from it. Does being the only one in a sea of t-shirts and jeans, pug-ed out look bizarre? You bet! Doesn't bother me though. I'm not normal. Never have been. Why should I try or wish to be so? I need to express myself in a way that I feel truly shows who I am. A way that makes my heart happiest! :)
One way to make my heart happiest is to express my creativity in one way or another. Using the resources already available to me, I've discovered a new way to do it. I usually do wear PUG about 5 to 6 days a week anyway, but recently I've been giving myself style challenges. I would make an outfit plan list for the week ahead for everything down to the accessories. The initial goal is to use one element as a running theme trough the week. Other factors could be changed up so no two looks are exactly the same, but the week's theme is a must. Well orchestrated to include outfit combinations I've been wanting to try, a variation of colors and patterns from day to day and pushing the boundaries of that all important versatility. Why do that? Well, it's something fun and different to do. Since a plan has been laid out I know I'll follow, there won't be any standing around trying to decide what to wear those days. Gives me something to look forward to knowing with minimal effort, I'll be all pug-ed out and looking cute and sexy no matter what :)
Of course this can also include true vintage not just vintage inspired fashions like on pinupgirlclothing, but your PUG duds deserve to be loved, so LOVE ON YOUR PUG!! ;)

Unworn PUG = tragedy, plain and simple. lol. I KNOW exactly what you mean! Lately, when I wear PUG, I get crazy, weird, and uncomfortable stares from women, lol. It is SO strong of a vibe I get from them that it is sometimes uncomfortable. But, I do NOT care what they think because I feel fabulous when I wear my PUG. Some women are extremely sweet and inquisitive, too, which I love, because it gets me talking about PUG and my 50's obsession. ;o)
