I've been meaning to write this for sometime, and what better time than right now? So here goes. A few months ago I saw an announcement for a pinup shoot with Holly West with hair and makeup by Micheline Pitt and Erika Reno. I thought dare I try it? Could I? So I inquired and lo and behold booked a shoot. I'm so glad it worked out because it has been part of my journey of healing. So thankful for PUG and the amazing community of women from all over the world. Your words and encouragement have helped me more than I can begin to express. You've helped me to realize and awaken to the beauty in me, and to let go of what I need to let go of. So my beloved PUGster big virtual (((hugs!))).
On the day of my shoot I came with 2 PUG dresses the polka dot l'amour and the red Ava. I purchased the Ava from Maria Nadine Simpson, and in some way I felt extra lucky that I had a dress from a fellow PUGster  in another part of the world. I knew you would be there with me in spirit and encourage me toward health, wholeness, and trying new things. :) I was incredibly fortunate to have my hair and makeup done by Micheline and Erika. They  did an astounding make up and hair job. I've never looked so glamorous, but they may not have realized a major make over was going on as well in my heart. I've struggled with allowing others ugly words to shape how I see myself.  I've let those ugly words have to much power, but not anymore. I choose to let go of the hurtful negative words. I am not the ugly words that were spoken to me, and neither are you my lovely. We are majestic gorgeous powerful women and it's time we realize it. I challenge you as well as myself in this New Year to awaken to this . There is beauty in us  that has yet to be discovered, and realized but I  believe it will be and can be. With each dab of make up each stroke of the brush I felt myself letting go of years of ugly words. If there are any ugly words you need to let go of I encourage you to do it ladies!  There is wisdom in knowing what to let go of and what to hold onto, and I knew that I had to let go of  alot of toxic waste words! Micheline and Erika are not only gorgeous but immensely talented women. I literally was amazed at my eyebrows. Micheline is an eyebrow genius! Also my hair was done gloriously by Erika. Thank You ladies you helped me more than you know! I was and still am amazed at the results! :)
Now I'm ready for pictures with Holly West. Holly is a pro and an amazing woman herself. She coached me and directed me through it all. Let ,me tell you ladies so much work goes into those stunning pictures we see on the PUG website. I really had no idea, but after this shoot I have more of an idea, and definitely have a new found respect for the whole process!
To top off this wonderful day I was invited to see Natasha Estrada (aka Viva la Cholita) perform at Cicada. She was epic and divine in her performance, and everyone from team PUG was stunning. I was honored to be there.  I saw beauty all around me. In the music, song,  ,dances, and in everyone. Perfect way to end a glorious day <3
ps  I would also like to say thank you to lovely Margarita and Justine who were working in PUG Boutique the day of this shoot. Your presence was special to me, and very much appreciated.
Pictures are in the comments of this blog.:)

My sweet gorgeous friends thank you so much for your words. I'm on a path of recovery Suzanne. After trauma's and abuse after being told horrible things and no I can't do it because I am to much this not enough that. I am finally starting to find my wings, and I am choosing to let go of ugly harmful words and actions and to embrace the truth that I am a woman of valor and beauty which I am discovering more of each day. I encourage you on your path Suzanne! Keep on as well! We are not the ugly things which may have been said or spoken to us. We are not the abuse that was done to us.We are glorious beautiful women capable of doing amazing things. We bring life to all we do. My dear friend Krystyna Witulski who designs spectacular baltic amber jewelry recently gifted me with a lovely honey colored glass cocoon. I thought it was very fitting for me. It reminded me that a butterfly goes through a process of change. The butterfly has to struggle to gain the strength to fly out of the cocoon. The struggle gives strength to the flight. I can see that happening in me as well.

Thank you, Michelle! That reminds me of the Chinese proverb: Just when the butterfly thought the world was over, it became a butterfly. I keep that on my fridge. <3

I would like to add that the shoes I am wearing in these pictures are from Out of the Closet. https://www.facebook.com/OutoftheClosetThriftStores?ref=ts&fref=ts I love that my thrifting there helps people that are battling HIV . If you have one in your area please check them out. :).
