Went shopping Sunday at Black Diamond Antiques in search of some vintage accessories or some pinup art to hang on my walls. Though I didn't have any luck with finding those, I did come across something pretty awesome. I was walking down the isles glancing at some of the things in the locked glass cases when something caught my eye. Boobies and legs! I thought… WHAT is that!?? So I go in for a closer look. It's a naked pinup looking woman lying down on her back with an ample bosom. Has a vintage-y look to her, and appears to be plus size to :) Turns out she is actually a salt and pepper shaker rack, and her boobies are the shakers! Cuteness!! I've NEVER seen anything like her Anywhere! Of course being a lover of all things pinup and unique, I wanted to buy her :) Originally marked for $19.00, but she happened to be in a case that was marked 20% off all items making her only $15.20. Not bad :) Quite a steal for possibly a one of a kind piece. I brought her home and cleaned her off. Tried to look for a year somewhere on her or at least a name, but there were none. No markings anywhere. I'm thinking it may have been made by a local artist? Don't know. Still an awesome find, and although I don't use salt OR pepper, she is now in my home as pinup art ;)

These pictures don't do her justice, much cooler in person. Hope PUG team won't censor this, she's too cute :D

Cool :) You wouldn't happen to know who they are made by, would you?

Brandi I definitely admire your tastes, that would have for sure caught my eye... or I guess I should say THOSE would have for sure caught my eye, and what a great price too :)

Good luck on finding out who the original maker was, it would be great to give them credit and to even find other works that they may of made over the years.

Thank you :) Thought it was a bit odd that it doesn't have a name anywhere on it, but oh well!

Update: I've done a little searching around on the net about my little pinup. First of all if you do a Google search for "naked lady salt and pepper shakers" in images, there are a few different variations (I'm happy mine looks the most vintage from what I've seen). I've also discovered that the pieces were originally from the 1950's. As I said in my blog above, there is no date on her, so there's no way of knowing for sure if she is genuine vintage or a remake. Also, just as Auburn Hills has mentioned, they come from Japan and are usually more expensive. Some for around $60 or better. Found a forum post on Antique-shop.com during my search as well where someone mentioned they've seen these listed in Warman's Antique & Collectible 2010 price guide with a value of $75.00-$85.00. Haven't been able to confirm that, but either way looks like I DID get an awesome deal :) Still no evidence of the original maker.
