The idea of wearing a mask as a thing of glamour was first introduced to me years ago. I saw Christina Aguilera wearing this cute sparkly and netted veil accessory during her "Nasty Naughty Boy" performance from her 2007 Back to Basics tour. Rather than wearing it as a covering, it was a beautiful accent. Fast forward a few years later and I see it again in a PUG photo shoot :) Micheline Pitt's Fetish Folly collection shoot to be exact. When I got my Deadly Dames "Tie Me Up" dress in fetish print (my review for which, you can find here), I decided I needed one of those cute masks to go with my dress as well (along with my other PUG goodies) :D As eccentric as I am, I still didn't think I could pull off wearing a full sized mask for regular wear. Something smaller was in order for the look I wanted. Something like a hair clip. Unsuccessful searches online for exactly what I was looking for, led me to making my own. Played around with some ideas that came to me. A learning process like anything else. The end result, I thought came out pretty cool! Thought about making more and selling them in the past, but had doubts as to weather anyone else would be interested in a piece like this. A series of events (one of which I'll mention in a bit) and talking with family gave me the push to at least give it a try. For the first time in what seems like a long time, I have a project that really excites me :) But back up for a second! I have to give props to a fellow PUG friend of mine…Jessica Montalvo-Anderson. I recently made a purchase (as it turns out, the first) from her VERY new Flair Ware Boutique. Seeing her cute collection inspired me to talk about and finally decide to go ahead with my project. Not to compete… I'm not a competitive person anyway, but to co-exist with something different. A home made mini collection of sexy pinup hair accessories I call "Wanting Vixen" :)
