Though I'm always sad to see it end, it was a great Labour Day weekend. What more could a girl ask for?

Before I headed out to the camp grounds this weekend my big PUG order for the fall arrived, and in lightning quick speed as always (less than 3 days from California to Southern Ontario, not too shabby ;) ). I've got to say that not a single item in the order has disappointed, I'm just in love with everything from the Laura Tops in white and black, to the Birdie Party dress and of course the Niagara dress. I'm not going to post a review of the order just yet though, I want to save that for when I've had the chance on my next day off (Wednesday can't come soon enough :) ) to take some pics of me in all the new outfits just so that I can show how everything looks and fits. Believe me, it all REALLY fits nicely ;)

So anyways, back to Labour Day. On the Sunday of this weekend I got the idea to put together a sort of "Mad Men at the Cottage" outfit just to lounge around poolside in. I settled on the white Laura Top over the Vintage Pinup Bikini Top and high waisted short in red, and OH MY GOD was that outfit a hit. It wasn't more than 2 minutes after my husband and I arrived at the camp site that my a photographer friend asked if she could shoot me with her camera in an impromptu pinup photoshoot.

We had SO much fun, my only regret was that I didn't bring my closet full of PUG shirts, dresses and everything else for the shoot. Oh well, the weather's supposed to stay warm around here for the time being so I'm sure that we can get one or two more pinup shoots in before it gets cold.

Anyways, after my next post where I review my PUG fall order, my next big project is an upcoming Rockabilly/Pinup photoshoot with the AMAZINGLY talented Melanie Gillis, an awesome friend of mine and an even better photographer. The theme of the shoot is going to be a wild child type girl rebelling against society's rules and the boundaries placed on her. I've come up with some really great concepts that I'm excited to try, and I'm going to throw in a Gil Elvgren tribute because I just can't let a shoot go by without getting in one tribute to Mr. Elvgren.

So that's that for now. I promise to have that order reivew up later this week where I'll really go into the details of WHY I love PUG's outfits so much and why they're my choice of wardrobe for almost any occasion life can throw my way. See you all soon :)
