- In this blog I'll be going by my nickname coco te (my only nickname given to me, other than the name Kara). I was born and raised in Aotearoa/New Zealand where I travelled like a gypsy between my parents in Palmerston North/Wellington and grandparents in Taupo.
My cultural background is obviously Maori with both British and French ancestry dotted through my whakapapa/family tree. My working background has been mainly in the Arts and heritage sector. However during studying for my undergraduate I worked in women's fashion retail.
