Help me find an outfit to go with these shoes? Pretty please? :)

Hey guys!I found these shoes at Modcloth - a pair of bright blue heeled oxfords which I really love but the problem is I'm putting off the plunge of purchasing them before I know I have something to wear them with. In just under a month I'm going to a comedy night and I really would like to wear these shoes to it.So! Anyone inspired and have ideas for what would…See More

WCIF Some affordable 40s style ladies swing pants?

Hey guys.I'm in the southern hemisphere, so winter is fast approaching and I really need some warmer vintage clothes to get me through the season. I know there must be some fabulous options out there somewhere... The sites I've found have been either sold out of my size (I'm a 29.5 inch waist) or have been asking at least $150. Unfortunately, I'm on a student's budget and have $200 to my name right now, so it'd be wonderful to spend no more than $80 on them total (Including postage.) It's a…See More

Help dressing up a plain black skirt?

Hey guys.So a while ago I bought a black (high waist, of course) circle skirt from a shop in Sydney (They do some really cool retro inspired stuff, plus a lot of punky things if anyone is interested. http://shop.dangerfield.com.au ) and am now asking for some style advice, because it seems to look a little too plain no matter what I pair it with. I like to look just that little bit extravagant when I go out, even if it is no special occasion.I have a…See More

They stared...

My local Hungry Jack's (Burger King in America) is done up as a 50's diner - a surprisingly good place to show off my new cherry skirt! My hair did have a victory roll at the front but it was very hot (89'F) and melted a bit by the time I went out…

Bio
I'm Jo, and I'm a fairly new recruit to the pinup style - I discovered a love for it early last year, and have a passion in fashion history. I love reading about the past and how history has affected us culturally and socially and what all of those things have done to fashion. I love the realistic stuff which would have been worn by every day people all the way up to the slightly kitzch Hollywood depecitions of what the 50s was.
