At the beginning of the summer, i got my hair pixied....like...REALLY short. It has grown considerably, but is still pretty short (5ish" long when straight). I have naturally wavy/curly hair (larger curls) and i am letting it grow back out. I attempted my first pug style 'do and make up the other night (see pic below). Please give me pointers since i really dont know how else to get a vintage-y look with my hair so short. I used the smallest curling iron walmart had...1/2" i think? Its tiny...

Hi ladies!

So, I already posted this on the main page but I thought I would post it here too just so that maybe some of you hair gurus would see it. :) Long story short, I have to cut about 4 inches off my hair due to a bad dip-dying experiment. While I'm not exactly happy about it, I am looking forward to being able to do more vintage hairstyles! My hair will need to be about shoulder length... How should I have the stylist cut it?
Hey gals,

so in a couple of weeks there's a game and comic convention in my nearest city. My partner is a massive nerd (as am I, secretly-ish) and is involved in running it, as well as representing the local gaming groups he's set-up and continues to run.

Last year, I thought I'd surprise him and I secretly ordered an Iron Man dress - he was surprised but liked it, as did I - for various reasons, it's what I'll be wearing again this year, but as I feel a bit braver with regards to my hair, I'm looking for ideas to style it that will sit well with my dress. The only slight issue is that I have a chiro appointment in the morning halfway between my hometown and where the convention is held, so it needs to be something that will withstand being laid on, or something I can do in a public restroom afterwards...
Maintaining pinup hair in humid conditionstag:www.pinupgirlstyle.com,2014-07-06:6504043:Topic:3417422014-07-06T14:22:56.300ZAlfre Lopezhttp://www.pinupgirlstyle.com/profile/AlfreLopez

I have ethnic mixed hair that is very curly. I normally just use an anti frizz styling cream from a brand called WEN, I add in a small amount of oil. Sometimes I use a dry styling oil or I will use coconut oil OR I will use a hair serum called Silk. I normally use these before I set my hair into pin curls (using heat usually at a medium setting). I have recently started using a pomade to make my look even smoother. It's just one that I found at a family member's house but I want to try Suavecita. Once my style is done I pump it with hairspray. I've experimented with several sprays but I want to know which ones you guys live by for dealing with the heat. I'm about to resort to using super glue! (Just kidding).

So basically I have no trouble getting the looks that I want. I just need to them to last! HELP!
Poll: Vote for your Fave Curl Setting Lotion!tag:www.pinupgirlstyle.com,2014-05-05:6504043:Topic:3316272014-05-05T19:03:41.690ZJerriehttp://www.pinupgirlstyle.com/profile/Jerrie

I cannot seem to get the hair to curl under or form a single wave. Instead, after brushing out I get a number of very large rolls that remain up and down ringlets. Sort of like bigger, looser 1840s hair. On several occasions I have brushed my hair literally for over an hour and I can tell you they're incredibly durable, they barely frizz at all and don't easily lose their shape, but no matter how I try to brush them into place they stay as these ringlets instead of ever going "horizontal." (The durability I can only guess comes from my hair being naturally curly so it likes to keep a shape.)

The closest I've gotten to the hairstyle has always been using foam rollers overnight, so that's what I'm using primarily. I'm wondering if the trouble is the direction in which I'm setting my rollers? I've been placing them against my head so they sit horizontally and rolled towards my face, but I'm wonder if placing them in your hair vertically/up and down could make a difference?

If anyone has mastered this style and could give me some tips I would be forever in your debt. Thanks for reading this!
sponge rollers & pincurl setstag:www.pinupgirlstyle.com,2014-04-09:6504043:Topic:3227742014-04-09T16:58:43.443Zlatina feyhttp://www.pinupgirlstyle.com/profile/latinafey

today, my hair seems to be falling out of the curl almost entirely and i have a wonky flip on one side and the rest just looks like crap. i'm not sure what to do other than ignore it because my hair is making me sad today. i did a hot roller set during the day and then pincurled it to sleep last night.
