Vintage hair that is.  I'm not a pro yet but I've come a long way!  I use sponge rollers and I've finally come up with a method to my madness LOL.  I've learned alot watching this You Tube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/KoontzFan2 - (I also love Lisa FreemontStreet and Cherry DollFace.)

If you search her Dita Von Teese tutorial and her Wet Set tutorial that's basically what I do.  I also found a setting lotion that I put in my hair before I roll it - http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=374102&catid=183... - this leaves your hair soft (not crunchy) and the curls really hold.  I then sleep in my rollers.  Like she says, the keys to having a good outcome are tucking your ends when rolling (or they'll frizz) and making sure your hair is DRY (or your curls will just die).   If its your first time with rollers (or pin curls - they basically give the same outcome) - don't freak out when you brush out your hair and you have a frizz ball on your head.  Keep brushing, brushing, brushing, brushing.  Brush the hair against your hand.  It will come together, I promise.  To also help the frizz I use a little squirt of this hair oil http://www.bestbeautyboutique.com/servlet/the-3366/Paul-Mitchell-Aw....   I also found that pomade help "calm" the curls down too.

I've also been working hard to get that famous Doris Mayday S wave in the front of my hair.  Basically you have to rat the living daylights out of your fringe, spray it and it should stand up lol.  I need to work more on the S part. I'm getting there.  I'm getting there.  :)

Here are a few pictures of recent hair successes.

These were 2nd day curls (I wrap my hair in a scarf to sleep and I can USUALLY" get another day out of the curls).

OMG!!! That Youtuber is AWESOME! Thanks for posting. Doing my hair in a vintage style has been the one thing I haven't mastered. I'm so excited to watch her videos and learn! :)

Thank you for the advice (and the links - I've watched the daylights out of Lisa & Cherry, so it's nice to have someone else to watch the daylights out of)!! And 2nd/3rd day curls are THE BEST!!

Looks amazing!
