What length hair do you have? Summer is for hair being up (in my book) because if you let it loose it will warm your neck and cause you to feel warmer than it actually is.

For Medium to Long hair:

- Ballerina bun (if you have lots of hair (or long hair) then pile it high up on your head in a pony tail, then take sections and twist) Otherwise (if you have medium hair) use a hair colored scrunchy to make your pony tail, use a small elastic band, again the colour of your hair to go over your pony tail which you fan out, making it a bun

- Twisted messy bun (you put your hair in a pony tail then take individual sections (within the pony tail) and twist the hair around and pop them back into the elastic (or bobby pin them) do it until you have a messy bun

- the classic messy bun

- the inside out pony tail (where you part your ponytail close to your head and flip it inwards)

- The double bun (on either sides of the back of your head)

- take bobby pins, twist sections of your hair up and start pinning (medium length)

About shoulder length I have been rocking it in a side pony and today I did a modern Gibson girl kind of a thing.

I do a Gibson roll almost daily.  I work in retail, and the heat is Texas has been brutal.  The Gibson allows me to keep my vintage look without sweating to death.  I have also done victory rolls with a snood, but that still gets warm.

The best two products I've come across to make the roll (or tuck) easier are this one on Etsy or this at Sally Beauty (smaller, but a little harder to use - doubles for bumper bangs).

What is a Gibson roll?

THANKS!!!

Love this hairstyle!!! looks elegant and keeps the hair out of the way.

getting a hair rat really helps with the back section!

The Gibson roll is a wonderful idea! I'm going to have to try that as I live in Houston, it gets HOT and HUMID! Does the Snood stay in your hair to keep it witih that curl?

I use loads of hair spray, bobby pins and it stays alllll day long.  It's not as humid here in Dallas, but we have the heat.  And the ac in my car is busted so I have to drive with the windows down, and it stays.
