Hey Girls, I've finally come to terms with the fact that i feel better embracing the vintage era feel and wardrobe, but since I'm 24 and finally embracing it, I need tips on how to get my hair to match my changing style. I'd surely appreciate any tips and suggestions on how to accomplish it. I'm used to simply straightening or curling my hair with a wand so sadly I cannot say I have much experience with hair, it has never been my strong point. Thank you for any suggestions in advance. Have a Great one ladies!!

I cannot say enough good things about this book: http://www.amazon.com/Vintage-Hairstyling-Step---Step-Techniques/dp...

Other than books, YouTube. YouTube is full of lovely ladies, happy to teach you how to style your hair. LisaFreemontStreet, CherryDollface, StarspangledHeart... all fabulous channels. Lilith Moon also does very cute hair, some vintage, others less so.

thanks sooo much lovely! <3

Anytime, babe. Starting out, you should be able to do much of your styling with Bobbie pins, pin curl clips, and your wand curler. And don't forget that any updo will hold better on day-old hair. I generally rotate my hairstyles (washing every two or three days), doing a blow dry the first day (plus accessory), then pin curl that night for a curly style the next day, then use the aftermath of the pin curls the next day in an updo. You'll find out what works best for you.

ahh, it makes sense now. I tried pin curls with washed hair and it didn't work out to my advantage. =] Thanks soo much hun!

I found a few great youtube tutorials and I tried Victory Rolls this past weekend. A member of Pin Up Girl Style has a tutorial, look her up StepLavie. Also great tutorial by Cherry Doll face on hair is really helpful. I've also got super curly hair so I blow dry it before I curl or flat iron it.

Lupe, I just saw this. Soo grateful for that info will look into it ASAP!. thank you!

I have the vintage hairstyling book mentioned previously, it's good but I'm thinking of selling it as there's only a couple of styles in it that I'm interested in, the rest are too time-consuming/too far past my skill level LOL

This hairstyle has become my "go-to" in my recent 'I wash my hair every other day now' routine, although I keep my fringe in place rather than pin it up :)
