Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any advice or tips on how to keep the wind from blowing one's skirt up?  I have the Netti dress in cowboy print & squirrel print, & even though they're different material I find those dresses in particular are very prone to blowing up in the slightest of breezes!  Now, if I was all sexy & cool like Marilyn Monroe I wouldn't mind so much, but picture a frantic hobbit dropping everything they're holding & thrashing around like an octopus on crack trying to keep her skirt down - definitely no Marilyn Monroe!

Does anyone have any idea on how to walk down the street without fearing that at any moment my skirt might fly up to my nose?  =)

Thanks!

I don't know, but I'm glad you are asking this. I was just thinking about adding to my review of the Daisy dress that it might not be suitable for days when there's a little wind. I was caught completely off guard in the middle of Berlin a few weeks ago, not a great moment! And no matter what I did after that, it was almost impossible to keep it in check, so eventually I gave up and went back to the hotel and changed. (Still, it's a great dress).

hahah Frantic hobbit thrashing around like an octopus on crack....that has got to be one of the most hilarious descriptions I have heard in a while. Ok heres what you do.

Option 1: Get some fishing line weights and sew them into the hem of the skirt in strategic places.

Option 2: Wear spanks/shorts under your skirts/dresses and use tiny safety pins to pin the skirt to the spanks/shorts (Strategically of course)  that way the wind can blow away and your skirt will stay!

Voila no octopus on crack...hahahahaahahaah

hope this helps ;)

I never like it when the wind decides to get frisky with me as well. To prevent any embarrassment, I normally wear a pair of thin shorts (in matching or complimentary color) underneath the dress.  However... for those stubborn dresses that just love to blow up constantly (such as my Betsy dress in Tipsy Elephant) I'll sew a tiny pocket near the bottom of the dress on all four sides and slip in something weighty (like a quarter); it doesn't solve the problem completely (I'll need to sew in more pockets), but it works well.

Hope that helps! :-)
