I have a couple of PUG items: dresses, Black label tops, pencil skirts and DD cigarette pants. I do not wear them as often as I'd wish. The DD denim cigarette pants I often wear for regular occasions, such as working or shopping. The Joan top is perfect for work as well. In the other items I easily feel overdressed.
Where do you wear your PUG items/pinup style clothes to? To work, only occasional or every day?
Do any of you have tricks to dress them down for more 'regular' occasions?
Permalink Reply by Amber on August 17, 2012 at 7:22pm I usually wear PUG when I go out. I don't wear the PUG style to work too often simply because sometimes it isn't work appropriate and my collection isn't that vast yet. :-) I do have a dress from Bettie Page that I can wear to work because it isn't low cut. I get a ton of compliments on it. I'm looking forward to getting a few more PUG dresses I can wear to work this winter. :- )
Permalink Reply by Roxanna on August 24, 2012 at 12:51pm I have a few items but not enough that they make up part of my entire style. I would love if my clothes were 50% PUG. Currently I am a student attending college full time so occasionally I get pieces from PUG to use the free shipping deal.
I used to feel overdressed when I would wear my PUG clothing just to hang out with my friends or boyfriend. I have slowly become more confident and I am trying to wear them even on regular days and so now I get lots of compliments. I really love to dress up nice everyday. The separates I buy usually are so colorful so I dress them down with cardigans or plain tops.
I would love to get an office job or work at a thrift store so I could wear all my wonderful clothes everyday. I bought the hot pink pants from PUG and I love wearing them all the time, even when I go to school.
Permalink Reply by Michelle Sharp on August 24, 2012 at 1:06pm I'm in the process of overhauling my wardrobe (basically selling non PUG on eBay) to get out of the whole 'jeans and t-shirt' trap I slipped into a few years ago.
The separates are a life saver and I adore the black label for work. Also spend a fair bit of time googling 'dita street style' for inspiration ;-)
A few of us are doing something called PUGember in December if you wanted an excuse to PUG up every day?

Permalink Reply by Harlow Napalm on August 25, 2012 at 3:02am I'm still at university, so when I go to classes I like to wear my Pinup Couture Pencil skirts with cute blouses, my LB High Waisted Trousers, Audrey skirt, and some PUG shirt-waist dresses like the Colette dress. I wear my PUG (and other repro brands) to university every day, and some days I even wear my fancier things like the Cherry Heidi, or Red Floral Print Birdie! Pretty much, I wear my PUG everywhere and anywhere!
If I want to look more regular or casual I will just wear one of the PUG separates with a modern blouse, but honestly with the way people dress these days it's hard to really dress down unless you want to wear sweat pants and a tshirt >:P

I have been integrating PUG items into my work wardrobe. Start slow if you feel uncomfortable - add a vamp top under a cardigan, wear a Doris top with a more modern bottom, etc. And take an afternoon and try stuff on to see what makes good outfits. Take pics, etc. Pair items that you'd never think of, its all about experimenting. Then in the morning you know what goes with what and you can just grab'n'go!

Permalink Reply by Flora Giannakos on November 18, 2012 at 3:49pm Everyday. Anywhere and everywhere. I wear nothing but pencil skirts and the Pinup Couture pencil skirts are my favourite. I have a large collection of PUG and non-PUG tops and I try to mix it up everyday regardless of whether I'm at work, out and about during the day, or out at night. The PUG look is beautiful and feminine and practical and comfortable and now that I've discovered it, I cannot bring myself to put anything else on my body. :-)
Permalink Reply by Tahitia Belle Fille on November 18, 2012 at 9:07pm The beautiful thing about PUG's entire catalogue is that you can really get outfits for any occasion at all. I've worn the perfect pencil skirt to job interviews, the Joanie top to meetings at my bank, the Vivien Dress to formal gala balls, the Vintage Pinup Bikini to days at the beach, the Netti Dress to picnics after a day the beach, the Sandra Dress to Christmas Eve mass at midnight, and any one of their T-Shirts for just lazily lying around the house on my days off. The best part is that I've gotten compliments every instance I've described above on how great PUG's clothing really is:)
Basically I have yet to find an occasion that I CAN'T wear PUG to. I do know what you mean though about even still not getting to wear it as much as you'd like. Despite our best efforts life just keeps getting in the way doesn't it?
All we can do is appreciate the days we get to wear PUG all the more eh? :)
