I posed the question to my blog readers and thought it would be fun to ask you lovely ladies.  Here is my full post if you want to read it: http://pacifiersandpinups.wordpress.com/2013/01/17/vintage-style-pe...

I think the main categories, the ones outlines in my post, are: the Sandy, the Rizzo, the Housewife, and the Bombshell.  I tend to fit somewhere inbetween the housewife and the bombshell, for casual I go mostly housewife with a little bit of sex appeal thrown in, but for nights out I am full on Bombshell (with a capital B!!!)

So which style do you feel you embody the most and why?  I have a feeling we're going to get a lot of bombshells, just from looking at pictures on here ;)

I think we all are a little bit of everything, but tend to gravitate to one of the styles most often.  That's the great thing about style and fashion, it can be anything you want it to be!  You are so cute and you work those Vamp tops, Brandi :)

I think I'm on board with Brandi, I relate to Frenchie the most because she was a little different and wasn't as extreme as Sandy or Rizzo (goodie goodie vs the bad girl). She was cutesy without trying too hard even though she hung out with the bad girls. Frenchie all the way!! :D

Hey there Cela! I saw this the other day on your site and just posted my answer there, but I thought I'd share it here too :)

I would have to say that I would be 40% Jayne Mansfield Bombshell, 40% Frenchie and 20% Rizzo. The 40% Frenchie covers the  every day being a well behaved, happy go lucky and a bit flirt with a rockabilly edge part of me, the 40% Jayne Mansfield Bombshell covers my glamour elegant “desire to be the center of attention via a wink and a smile” side AND the 20% Rizzo covers the all out “bad girl” side of me that just keeps on getting loose... especially when I "let" her loose ;)

Love Rizzo. All the way. In the fourth grade, when my friends and would play “Pink Ladies” at the pool, everyone else wanted to be Sandy. I wanted to be Rizz! I like some rockabilly style for going out, some madmen type sixties for work. But always leaning toward the bad girl thing. Wiggle skirts over swing skirts fer sure.

My pinup heros are Jane Russell and my grandmother! Nanny is 81, I wish I had some photos of her from the fifties to post, she could have given Betty Grable a run for her money.

My grandmothers were my vintage inspiration too, I remember as a little kid looking at pictures of them when they were young and being in awe at how glamourous (I didn't know that was the word yet) they were.  I look just like my dad's mom when she was young so I like to think that by dressing/styling myself after her era, we are more connected.  Your grandma is super cute :)

Thank you so much. I'm gonna have to collect some of her photos and blog about her later on. One of my many pending projects in a list that's getting oh so long. The thing about our grandmothers is that they took pride then that so many now do not. I have been guilty of it myself. It's important to take the time to get ready, even if just running errands or whatever. I know I feel so much better about myself  when I do. My Nan always presents herself in a beautiful way, even now at 81! I could learn a lot of lessons from her!

OOhh yes  sssoo 1940's , 30's ladies , dames , that's me just something about it , I think it's the sexiness of it, especially in the films of that time , ya know sexy but not sexual , clean and clear headed  . It's a great and powerful feeling in those classic classy styles of dresses, skirts , and accessories , really loving the stuff trashy diva puts out , real lotta fun , love flirty skirty flutter and sway of the raylon fabric  hems somewhere anywhere just below the knee and above the ankle  perhaps slit skirts at ankle  My fav lead actress of that time is Barbara Stanwyck , she conveyed that which I'm saying, so well .

Barbara Stanwyck was wonderful! I came by the most amazing pic of her the other day I will share:

That is an amazing one , thanks for sharing April ;-)

MMMM break out the popcorn , Brandi ! ;-)
