Hi all,
I'm off to New York next year and I was wondering if any locals (or everyone else) would be able to tell me some great vintage/reproduction places to shop at. I'll be in staying in Brooklyn near lots of transport so it can be from all over NYC. Happy for any food/drink/site seeing advice too.
Thank you

YAY for New York!! One of the best places to go (where you can also find PUG) is ENZ's on 2nd Ave (http://enzsnyc.com/). She's got some stuff up on the website, but it's really best to go into the store and look at everything. She carries PUG, Stop Staring, Unique Vintage, Freddie's of Pinewood, Bettie Page, Eldorado Club, Lux DeVille, and so on and so forth lol. Definitely my favorite for repro!

Yes, definitely go to Enz's! It's a tiny store but she manages to cram a lot of good stuff in there. And while you're in the East Village, be sure to check out the TONS of vintage stores lining the number streets between Bowery and Avenue A- 3rd st, 4th st, 5th st  etc., they're all lined with tiny little vintage stores, some high end, vintage Prada, Chanel and such, and others are more affordable. There's one store, I think on 4th or 5th, that has tons of Vintage shoes in a variety of sizes.  It'll take some time and tons of walking but it is SO worth your while. Trust me! Also. Fabulous Fanny's has TONS of vintage glasses + sunglasses frames... I mean tons. One could spend hours in that store alone trying on all the vintage glasses frames.

Also near by... The Patricia Field store is lots of fun. No a ton of vintage repro but lots of good stuff + funky stuff. Accessories and jewelry, lingerie. Maybe you'll be lucky like me and she'll happen to be in the store when you're there and you'll get to meet her :D Plus she just moved to a bigger store which I haven't been in yet, but it looks really good. You can check out her website to see what kind of stuff they have there. Oh and she has a salon there too!

There's also Gothic Renaissance, which is pretty much just a really big gothic store, but they have lots of pretty jewerly, fancy corsets, and some vintage. That's on 4th Ave between 10th and 12 Street.

Keep in mind, number *Streets* run East/West. Number *Avenues* run North/South. That should help with you not getting lost :)

If you're staying in Brooklyn, check out the Brooklyn Flea...My friend gets a ton of vintage stuff there, and I am also so jealous! Unfortunately, NYC is not the best for Vintage 50s items, so you really have to search if vintage shops for stuff. About 4 blocks from Enz's is buffalo exchange, and I have found some really great stuff there.
