Hey everyone! I wanted to take a minute to let you all know that I've just created the Great Lakes Pin-Up Group here on PInup Girl Style (with the help of my hubby for the logo artwork).

This is going to be a group for everyone PUG, pinup, retro, rockabilly and vintage style fan who lives on or near the Great Lakes or anyone nearby that wants to be involved too. So if your from Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, Toronto, Chicago, Sault Ste Marie, Thunder Bay, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Rochester, or even further away from the lakes like Ottawa, Montreal or even Boston and New York, ANYWHERE in between or ANYWHERE in the world for that matter, I'd love to have you be a part of the group :)

My biggest goal for this group (aside from getting to know eachother here) is to organize some amazing get togethers once the weather gets warm again.

Shopping trips, walking tours, nights at the movies, nights at plays and musicals (I'd love to see Les Miz with some PUG ladies if I can), trips to the beach, nights at roller derbys, get togethers at car shows, days at fairs and amusement parks and any other kind of get togethers that you can think of are all on the table for this year. It might not happen this year, but I'd even love to even try to organize a trip to Times Square in New York for New Years Eve.

Aside from trips though I'm sure that there are plenty of tips on vintage stores you can shop at, advice for cold weather pinup outfits and other things that we can share here. I've had so much fun meeting you and chatting with you all here on Pinup Style, and I can't wait for the chance to meet some of you in this area in person.

So join up and I hope to see you all soon :)

Brandi the groups for absolutely everyone who wants to join, especially you :)

Also, one of the best beaches that I've ever been to in my life was on Lake Erie on the Canadian side, and at night you could see the lights from Erie PA all the way on the American side :)

It was really cool, I'll have to tell you all about all the fun times I had there if we ever meet up for a pinup get together with this group :)

Hey guys! It's me again and I just wanted to let you all know what I was thinking about planning for our first pinup get together :)

Once it's warmer in the spring around late April or May, I'm aiming to put something together close to what Leanna Bruce did for her UK PUG Meet and Greet. We'd hit one or two vintage clothing shops, maybe stop for coffee somewhere, then hit Kensington Market (there's a lot of walking in this plan so I'd advise flats for sure), go somewhere for dinner and if everyone has the time we could end the night anything from a play, to a roller derby or even a burlesque show (depending on what everyone's interested in and if they would work for our schedule).

If anyone was interested I'd also LOVE to make up t-shirts with the Great Lake Pinup logo on them to give out in a gift bag to everyone too. If this goes good I can easily see doing at least one or two more this year in this area. Now I just need some interested ladies so don't be shy now :)

I'm from Kingston, Ontario but I don't have a passport so I can't make it to any of the US shows, but I'd gladly rock one of them t-shirts if it's got this adorable logo on it.

Hi Chrystal! I'm so glad to see that you're interested :) If you can make it out to a get together (whenever that happens) I'll definitely try to make a shirt up for you and everyone else.

Don't worry about get togethers in the states, for now I think the focus will be on meeting up in our area where it would be easiest for us all to get to.

Feel free to let me know if you have any ideas yourself for where or what to do for a meetup and don't forget to join the group here if you'd like!

One idea I have, the Red Hot and Blue rockabilly weekender in Montreal (Labour Day weekend). It's a 4 day event and probably the most fun I've EVER had. I'm certainly going to be there this year with my spouse and my father (and his '62 Biscayne!). I know it's a little far for you but if you enjoy great music, dancing and cars - you'd love it! Here's the link for the event - http://www.rockabillyjam.com/

And as you know there's ALWAYS shows at the Dominion (on Queen) and tons of car shows all across South Eastern Ontario, all summer long (some really nice ones up here where I live, being so close to the US border and all). And don't forget the Picton Air Field Arm Drop Drags!!

Chrystal the Red Hot and Blue Rockabilly Weekender is an AMAZING idea! That`s the weekend after Fan Expo in Toronto but if I can get that weekend off too and find a reasonably priced way to get there I will definitely be there. We'll have to talk more about this :)

Dominion on Queen in Toronto is always an option yes, as are all those other car shows you mentioned and it would be great to see one with a lot of American cars from over the border. I've never been to the Picton Air Field Arm Drop Drags either but sounds pretty wild too.

Have you ever been to Canada's Wonderland? That was one of my ideas for a get together to have possibly.

I love all your ideas Chrystal and I really hope to we can get together at at least one of these events. Also, your father has one GORGEOUS car :)

I have been to Canada's Wonderland a few times, but I'm not honestly sure if that's something I can dig nowadays. Last time I was there a youngin' vomited all over me and I was traumatized, I don't think I can handle that happening to me in PUG ;o

Other than that, I'm pretty much down for anything though. This weather just needs to get on board with us and we can actually start putting some plans in action!

I know what you mean Chrystal about Wonderland, it's not really a "must do" anyways. Besides, I'd just feel awful if god forbid that happened to someone there while wearing their PUG like you said.

I can't wait for the warm weather to come either! We're going to have so many awesome ideas ready for it :)

Hey guys! I'm about to start the planning for our first official meet & greet and I wanted to know how you all felt about the idea of making the together a shopping trip in Toronto?

I realize that we're very spread out geographically here so if Toronto's too far away for everyone we can try to find something that's more central.

Either way I just wanted to know if this was an idea that you could all see happening, and if it was if you could even see trying to persuade friends of yours to come along too?

Let me know what you think guys either here or on the group page here :)
