I was just wondering, what other repro brands do the rest of you PUG girls wear?! I am constantly on the look out for more to add to my wardrobe as I refuse to wear vintage.
Other than PUG, I also love to wear Bernie Dexter and Hell Bunny, what about you?
Does anyone here like Collectif? I have heard a lot of things about their stuff but am yet to actually get my greedy little hands on any =P
I wouldn't mind buying from:
I've just bought a dress from Limb Clothing recently. Beautiful dress, but I'd be weary of the size chart. I fit the size 14 measurements exactly and I've needed to have it adjusted - it's a bit loose at the waist and bust, I had to have it taken up a good inch at least at the shoulders.
Lady V London has some adorable casual dresses.
oh my gosh. thank you for linking Hola Chica! I love so many things!
have you purchased from them before??
Don't by the knockoffs on Ebay that come from China, Taiwan, etc. They use pics of Bernie Dexter or other pinup girls in their dresses and sell a replica. Quality of workmanship and material is crap. Only good thing is their sizing is generous.
Lots of the pattern makers nowadays are doing Retro patterns, so try making something or getting someone to make it for you. That way it's an original and will fit you really well.
PinUp Clothing is great but terribly expensive. I couldn't afford to buy all my dresses from these suppliers. Whirling Turban are too die for, but apart from a wedding, deb or ball.......too many $$$s for me!
www.daddyos.com - they have tons of stuff, and carry stop staring dresses that ss doesn't carry on their site
www.lightinthebox.com - type vintage in the search box. From China, so order a size larger. The black swing dress is gorgeous
www.whatabeautifullife.com - go to the Lolita section. Some are a little weird, but some are very unique
www.ftcline.com - again go the Lolita section
I find Collectif surprisingly good quality, considering their prices. But, I haven't bought anything from them in about 2 years. I wish they would put an accurate size chart on their website...The two dresses, three tops and one cardigan of theirs that I have are lovely.
Sourpuss have very nice quality clothing too.
Whirling Turban have all of my most-lusted-after garments. Seriously drool-tastic.
Trashy Diva are equally amazeballs....and also expensive. They do sell some faulty/imperfect items on ebay from time to time at a lower price, it's worth keeping an eye out for those if you are handy with a needle & thread.
Other than that, I love to support etsy sellers when I have some money to spare. They will often create a dress/skirt/top made to your own measurements for a very low price. Plus, it's lovely to support pinup entrepreneurs, eh? ^_^
