I was just wondering, what other repro brands do the rest of you PUG girls wear?! I am constantly on the look out for more to add to my wardrobe as I refuse to wear vintage.
Other than PUG, I also love to wear Bernie Dexter and Hell Bunny, what about you?
Does anyone here like Collectif? I have heard a lot of things about their stuff but am yet to actually get my greedy little hands on any =P
I really like Heartbreaker, Trashy Diva, Whirling Turban, Audrey K... but truely, PUG is the best for repro! I love how PUG does separates so you can have a more casual look and mix and match :)
you do realize that Modcloth actually sells PUG, Bernie Dexter, Bettie Page..etc right?
they just rename the dresses.
I have some piecies of Collectif, some good other not so. The fitting and overall quality is nothing like PUG. Miss Fortune is in the same pricerange and they are also an ok brand (http://missfortune.co.uk/)
Other brands besides PUG that i really love is UK-based Glamourbunny (http://www.glamourbunny.co.uk/) and the swedish brand Miss Candyfloss (http://www.miss-candyfloss.com/), they have perfect fitting and uses good textiles with great attention to details.
I've never tried Bernie Dexter, as her idea of plus size clothing was to literally add '2 inches' from the largest size, so it's unlikely I will ever try her clothing, as she's now getting rid of the plus size line entirely
(even if it wasn't plus size to begin with)
I love what I've seen of collectif, but I've never been able to grab any of their UK Size 22 (US 18) dresses- they either sell out immediately or aren't produced for certain lines/designs.
I really like Hell Bunny- they've been pretty bang on with sizing, I would even call their sizing generous(the halter dresses that have full back with elastic in particular)
I love PUG/Bettie Page, and I'm eagerly awaiting the extended plus size options that PUG is releasing in the fall- it will be awesome to be able to wear/purchase pencil skirts/bottoms that fit :) at the moment my hips generally size me out of their separates.
I would love it if in general there were more plus size options. I've liked the Retro Chic line Torrid has seemed dedicated too, complete with stop staring dresses/rompers.
I also get a lot of my shoes/clothing from Asos, and Dorothy Perkins.
Agreed on Hell Bunny sizing - they're the only brand of this style where I fit into a medium (which is my high street size) instead of a large.
Thank you Hell Bunny for flattering my vanity ;)
I personally love modemerr.com. sometimes seems a little high priced but the product quality is excellent, service is amazing and each item used to be hand made.
I love Bettie Page and PUG. I shop on Unique Vintage alot because they carry quite a few brands. Whirling Turban is on my wish list as right now its a bit out of my price range. I've heard good things about Hell Bunny and Heartbreaker too.
A great WW2 era style of clothing is Tara Starlet. Great quality materials & all the dresses/ skirts I have are really flattering. Its a UK brand/ website but in Australia I buy from miskonduct.com
FYI - I had not heard of whirling turban until this thread, and now I may have found my wedding dress, so thanks!!
Heartbreaker and Bettie Page clothing tend to fit me well.
I like iron fist shoes....

Can I please ask why you refuse to wear vintage?? I have found some of the best things that way!
I also check out Cats Like Us (.com) and Sourpuss Clothing.
