This is my first time posting anything here but I just thought I would ask for some advice on my upcoming trip. I was looking for some either historic old Hollywood related things to see or do.
I will be going to LA very shortly, not too long to plan, but I thought I'd ask for must see things in LA. We are only going to be there a short amount of time. I have Sunday free, which I wanted to go to the Pinup Girl Boutique and I wanted to go to Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's will call which is a couple hours in the evening. Other than that, I thought maybe we'd go to the handprints and possibly the museum that's close by.
Monday we are going to Disneyland and Tuesday we are going to a concert in the evening. Wednesday we are headed home!
It's my husband's very first time in LA.
Thanks for all of your suggestions,
I was thinking maybe places to eat or some other suggestions?
Go to the Cicada Club! It's on my list of places I want to go when I finally get to go to LA.
I wanted to but the only night I would be able to go there it is closed for a private party. :(
Well for drinking there are the two tiki bars not too far from the PUG Boutique. There is the Tonga Hut and Tiki No both are within a short drive.Of course there are lots of vintage stores nearby the PUG Boutique. And Besame Cosmetics has their store right across the street. What part of town will you be staying in? Then it will be easier to give more suggestions. I will be back!
Okay, so I'm back and we had an excellent time! We had plenty of things to do so it ended up working out. We stayed with my brother's girlfriend's grandpa in Whittier. On Sunday we went to the Hollywood Museum (one of my favorite places) and the handprints. We then went to Burbank and ate at Porto's bakery then went to the Pinup GIrl Boutique, it's so pretty! I loved it there and ended up purchasing the Ella dress in yellow. It's the first PUG dress I've purchased in a long time, long story why, doesn't have anything to do with them, I had been dealing with weight issues! Monday we spent all day at Disneyland, unfortunately it closed early for Micky's halloween party. I was bummed about that because I definitely could have spent more time there and it was my husband's first time at Disneyland. The last time I was there was 18 years ago when I was little. Tuesday we stayed around the house and then went back to Burbank to eat at Porto's again. While we were eating Doris came in. I excited to see her but too shy to approach her and say hi. Plus she was on the phone and that would be rude to interrupt. I visited the store again and then we headed to Hollywood to see our concert, Robert Plant. He was amazing! Then we made the long drive home to Oregon. We left at 4AM on Wednesday.
I miss LA so much! There's no way my husband would ever move there though.
Does anyone give tours of the Hollywood Sign? That could make for a great holiday pic/Facebook timeline pic :)
I know that you can hike up near the sign but you can't get very close because it's heavily guarded to prevent vandalism, etc. Maybe have it in the background from further away...
