Hey guys.
So a while ago I bought a black (high waist, of course) circle skirt from a shop in Sydney (They do some really cool retro inspired stuff, plus a lot of punky things if anyone is interested. http://shop.dangerfield.com.au ) and am now asking for some style advice, because it seems to look a little too plain no matter what I pair it with. I like to look just that little bit extravagant when I go out, even if it is no special occasion.
I have a fairly straight figure (though I'm definitely not 'skinny'), so anything which gives the effect of curves is a bonus. (I occasionally wear a corset but don't have the willpower to waist-train) I like to keep my colour palette to the 'goth' essentials: Red, purple, black and grey. (If you need size info, I'm a size 12 - 14 (Australian sizes) and have a 78cm waist.) I'm also detained by the fact my hair is at an awkward length, no longer a pixie cut but not a bob either - too long to do a greaser look, and too short to curl into a nice 50's housewife style - so I rely on my clothes for the 'vintage' look.
The PUG tops I own are delightful but they are all black too so I fear that it will lose some of the effect. (I own the ruffled bustier by Dixiefried and Vamp top).
Perhaps if any of you have polyvore you could put together an outfit or link me to some nice tops to dress it up? It'd be awfully kind of you.
Thank you :D

I agree with Jennifer McKeever. The Pinup Couture red Doris top and the Deadly Dames red with black dots Vamp top are both good options. Also Deadly Dames Dolly top in red. Wish PUG had more purple tops, plum in particular is one of my favorites :)

Permalink Reply by Amber on February 2, 2013 at 5:11pm Here are a couple pics of me in a black circle skirt. In the summer I paired it with a the vamp top and added a flower to my hair. For winter I wore the vamp top with a bolero sweater and poinsettia in my hair. I always wear a belt to cinch my waist. I think with the right shoes, a hair flower (which you can wear no matter the length) and some jewelry and you'll be good to go.
Permalink Reply by Claire Suzanne on February 3, 2013 at 1:14pm I have a Becky halter top by Heartbreaker in black tattoo print that looks awesome with a black skirt. Any top in cherry print also looks great :-) but from PUG I think the Deadly Dames Psychobilly halter tops would be amazing with a black or red skirt!!
