Hello all

I am currently on a search for some new hair flowers. Unfortunately the search is not going too well. I live in the UK.  There are a few places that I have got some previously, but the colour choices etc are limited. I don't want glitter,  feathers etc. Just some realistic flowers.

Any ideas are much appreciated

Hey there...

Have you checked out Belle Blossoms or JenKaboom Designs?? Both are US-based, but both ship overseas (I think). Belle Blossoms also has a Blossom of the Month Club, where you get a new hair flower each month (like a wine of the month club) and both do beautiful & realistic looking flowers... BB also does snoods, vintage hair clips and other goodies. (This is where I purchased my snood from, for a great price, and love it - it doesn't lose it's stretch!)

Ok, here are the links (both are also on FB, which is where I found them, and they post their updates on there...):

Belle Blossoms: belleblossoms.com (She is going on vacation at the end of June, but will continue the BOM while on vacation; she's also on etsy)

JenKaboom Designs: JenKaboom Designs (it looks like they are re-vamping their actual website, because it keeps kicking me back to her FB page; also, she's here on PUGStyle!!)

Finally, I know there are a ton of girls on here that do hair flowers/clips/etc, like Brandy Shuey, and they may be able to make a custom order of exactly what it is you're looking for.

Hope these help!

Thanks for the reply. The flowers on belles blossoms are gorgeous, but in most cases the shipping is more than the product. Living in the UK majes life difficult.

I'm a fan of Vintage Box 1947 and recently ordered their Retro Package which I love. Very high quality stuff. They're based in the US but they ship with the cheapest option available (USPS Int. First Class) so shouldn't be too expensive - it cost me $7 to ship to Australia with $65 worth of product in there.

(also, looks like they currently have a discount code! welcome15 for 15% off)

Not sure if anything I make is what you are looking for,but I do custom requests as well.I can make hair flowers out of almost any fabric. I'll try to save you as much as I can with shipping, too. :)

Thanks. I work near a new look, unfortunately the choice is a bit pink for me. Red is my favourite :) it appears accessorize do what I'm looking for. I am looking for a more hibiscus/orchid/tropical affair.

oooohhhh, the tropical affairs, sigh. the "where's waldo?" search begins... Diablo Jo does some (she's on fb & etsy - i think), and I do believe she is on your side of the pond, which should help with shipping. PUG (of course) has started with the fascinator/flower selling... I wish you luck; most of the flowers in the tropical variety (especially orchids, my absolute fave flower ever!) come off not looking real, but looking definitely plastic. I have actually been looking around crafty places and such to see if I could find some to make my own. Do tell if you find a place that is awesome!!

I agree with Paperdoll that you can try to make your own. We have some hobby and fabric shops in the US, such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Joann's fabrics, that carry silk/ fabric flowers for floral arrangements. I have found quite a few types and colors of orchids at these places. Orchids work well because they are also pretty flat. I have also found many different rose colors. Like Paperdoll stated, use a wire cutter to cut the stem off as close to the base as possible. Sometimes you can pull the flower off the stem. Sometimes, you may have to hot glue the base of the flower to the lower petals to keep the flower from comming apart. I also like to hot glue a piece of narrow ribbon that either matches your hair, the flower, or the leaf (if the flower has one)around the pin curl clip to hide the metal. It also looks more professional that way. Then you can hot glue the flower onto the clip. It is also helpful to determine which side of your face you want to wear the flower on before you glue it to the clip. You don't want an orchid to be upside down or the leaves to stick up like bunny ears:). I also found some realistic looking cherries at hobby lobby and made some cherry clips with a small bow and another one with a small white flower. I wish I could find some other miniature realistic fruit, though. Anyway, try looking at you tube for tutorials. Good luck!

Hey - there's a seller on Amazon called Fabulous Fascinators. I came across them the other day looking for hair flowers (specifically orchids!) and they came up with a number of options. I can't attest how they look in RL, as I haven't gotten around to buying any yet, but they look pretty realistic on line.
