Hi I am impressed that - even with tights - you can wear that in NZ at the moment. Do you live in Napier? (I am in Wellington)

Now you could go with the nude stockings like Brandi suggested because those are REALLY sexy 

I would normally go with a pair of backseamed leggings at 40 denier (not too sheer not too black) for colder weather and 20 denier for a little bit warmer weather. 

If you want a bit more color, it may seem like a weird combination but I've seen women wearing a dark blue/black or blue with their green dresses and it usually looks fabulous. You just have to pick a blue that looks good with the dress, let me find a photo.

I think you could also pull of almost any shade of grey. You can pick a shiny brown too , but a standard brown might make you look too much like  christmas tree :)

Seamed hose indeed are a classic and effective look. I was also thinking of going for some loud vibrant colors for a night out, but that would be kind of "out there".
