There is a lot of different styles of music to like and enjoy and for different moods, but what music grabs your fancy foot work to dance ? , Jazz [ big band rocks !] is my motivator , especially to swing the full circle hem lines:-) ; so what music really gets you up on your feet and move to a groove ?
I don't go dancing unless it's in the living room when everyone else is away... I don't know how! BUT Brian Setzer Orchestra, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Lou Bega, and of course, Elvis, tend to get my feet moving. I also love the Rat Pack, but they are not all swing-y...
Ha yeah , I don't go out dancing either I jus love dancin round my apartment , relieving stress and getting indoor exercise ;-) my apartment is my art studio so I jus move the easels and jam the jazz tunes . I just rediscovered older jazz and find it great to dance to more so than rock , seem they go hand in hand . and Yay ! thanks double o Jenn for replying ;-)
I agree with Double O Jenn, Elvis's music was made to get women's feet moving:) Honestly I can get up and dance to rock, metal, pop, hip hop, latin, as long as the song`s decent and has a good beat that I can move to I`ll give any song a chance.
Songs like Home For a Rest, Baby Got Back, Paradise by the Dashboard Light, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Grease Lightning, all of these will get me up and moving no matter where I am or what I`m doing since all of those have a special place in my heart .:)
ah that could be why Elvis is the king ;-)
Oh, I love to dance! But only when no-one is home! Often my gym workouts at home end with me dancing about. Why just the other day I finished up shakin' my booty to Boom, shake the room. haha, yes I am a dag! I love all sorts of music and will dance to pretty much anything. One of my all time faves would be The Cell Block Tango. nothing like pretending I know how to tango to make a girl feel sexy.
Totally on my bucket list... the Argentine tango (love love LOVE Dancing With The Stars!!!) is the hottest damn dance! Both tangos, as well as pretty much all of ballroom dance, are on the bucket list. Trying to find a dance studio around here (local so I can walk to it and work around work) are the current issues... But I will get there. It's one of my fear's about going to VLV - that I'll go to an event and somebody will ask me to dance (ok, seriously, 1. I can only hope! and 2. seriously afraid of it!!)!
But I agree with you other two ladies - I'm down for pretty much anything music-wise. I grew up with my dad in the garage blaring Judas Priest/Metallica/KISS/ as well as old blues (and I mean, BLUES), while in the house my mom had on "bubblegum rock" like Elvis/The Beach Boys/Motown as well as Dolly Parton/Kenny Rogers... It was musically schizophrenic... Add to that playing (or used to anyway) 5 different instruments, and basically, I'm a music whore. The only thing I cannot stand (ok, more than one) is Thrash/Death Metal and Rap. And I mean hardcore b******/w*****/c***/n***** rap. That I do not understand, mainly because you can't actually understand them. And really, I find it to be demeaning. (which does not explain at all why I have eminem on my itunes...). I actually like foreign language music as well too...
haha... I can't figure out what the w*** word is!
yeah, foreign language is great, particulary french! I have a So frenchy, so chic CD that makes me feel fancy when I listen.
