There you go ! today's winter outfit ! it was 30°F in Montreal today ! ^_^ I'm not wearing a coat because I'm on my little balcony in the sun !!! :D

I'm wearing a vintage pleated plaid skirt...black wool tights...a long sleeve tee shirt with a rather thick white cardigan on top & last but not least my fresh & new Miss L Fire shoes !!!

Despite the price I highly recommend those ! Awesome quality !

Anyway this is more or less my everyday look for winter ^_^…

I'm starting to experience my very first canadian winter so I'm in need of advice too !It's already 30°F here in Montreal...

I'd go with the layering/onion trend too.. it's really does help keep the body warm & allows you to remove some of the layers when you are inside but still not be in your undies LOL !

last year I bought special "Heat" teeshirts, both short & long sleeve, that are meant to be light but warmer than normal tees with a Heat Techology. Not very "retro"…

last year I bought special "Heat" teeshirts, both short & long sleeve, that are meant to be light but warmer than normal tees with a Heat Techology. Not very "retro" but it's simple & basic enough to wear under cute sweater/cardigans/shirts etc...

Ok my adive is :

-tank top or slip if you're wearing a dress !
-long sleeve tee shirt (just a basic one V neck for example...)
-blouse (just a pretty shirt to cover your top, secretary blouse with a bow for example !)
-Cardigan !(get one that isn't too long, about waist lenght is good & with a rather thick & cozy fabric)

I NEVER wear trousers... I hate 'em... & I'm positive I can spend the entire winter without wearing one. I do wear leggings, with a pretty dress on top of it.
I'd say wool or opaque tights with a pencil skirt for example will look & feel good.

A very warm hat or berret, cute gloves & a nice scarf ! great accessories that can add glamour !

Hum... velvet dresses ! I've seen some gorgeous retro one ! They're so warm & glamourous !

Oh I feel it's very important to have a LONG COAT ! Knee lenght is good...mid calf is better :).

1 last but not least... SHOES ! I was reluctent at first because they are expensive but I ordered some Miss L fire ones which I cannot wait to get !!! the black Havanas... they are so 40s & just plain ravishing !

Well Hope this helps doll !

Those gloves are just GORGEOUS! Especially the ones in the Van Raalte ad above the Marilyn pictures. Does anyone know where you can still buy gloves like that?

In a perfect world I'd learn how to make them myself just to sell them through PUG :)

Oh WOW that coat is beautiful! I've actually been looking for a vintage style trench coat to wear around town in the fall and early winter. It might take some time to warm to that colour but I DEFINITELY think that I'm in love :)

I would love some advice here, too!

I come from the other side of the globe, but am visiting New York this winter. Where I live, it gets chilly (highs of 50F), but I need to know - how the heck does one stay warm where it snows?! I've heard all the buildings are heated, but surely people sometimes have to walk a few blocks to go to the shops, laundry, etc. So what on earth do people do?! I've found a gorgeous vintage-inspired coat on Modcloth, but I don't think it's going to cut it :/…
