What stores can I find affordable workout clothes? Preferably around SoCal. I'm a college student about to take a pilates class at school for the first time in years? The last time I took one it was a mat class in middle school. Now I don't know what type of class it is or what it incorporates (mats, machines... I'm not used to machines...).
I'd prefer nothing too baggy or too tight since I'm a little... soft...
Got a few squish bits that hopefully this will help combat?
Also what workout clothes or clothes in general do you guys recommend for dance classes? Been meaning to take Latin/salsa, Ballroom, Bellydance, & maybe even Jive? Folklorico? lol!
Anywhere I could find clothes that could transition from this class to those?
All I have is tank tops, concert tees & jeans & I'm not sure I can work out in those. (Least not the last two...)
Please & Thank you!!!!
Target has some great stuff right now in their Champion line! I know it's not PUG related at all, but they do have some nice, affordable options.
I adore VS but it's too pricey for something that I'm going to cover with sweat on a daily basis. If you go to (it's evil trust me) Walmart then you can also find cheapass stuff. You can go on eBay and find some great quality basics for about $10 per which should probably arrive within a week.
If you look up pallazzo pants you can find options that are wide leg but usually nicer materials. Some of them are also fitted at the top and baggy below the knee and they are probably the best option for wearing too class and to exercise. :) I wear them to work sometimes lol
I second going to Target, I get a lot of my workout basics there like tank tops and yoga style pants/capris. I guess Old Navy has exercise gear now too, but I Haven't tried it so I don't know much about it but I'm sure its inexpensive. Walmart is a good option for super basic stuff like t-shirts and tank tops. Stuff like that I wouldn't spend very much money on, however I recommend a splurge on running shoes ($50+) and a sports bra ($40+). Without those two things you won't enjoy working out. I hated exercising until I got a good sports bra, I didn't realize that it didn't have to hurt when I run and jump :)
Pilates is fun, its nice to have the lower impact. For dancing, I would start with the same kind of clothing, ie a top and a pair of yoga pants, and tennis/running shoes. They wont restrict your movement and you don't have to buy a bunch of extra clothes :) I imagine if you get really into it, like performing, the school will advise you on the next step.
Usually yoga pants are a good bet, I like capri yoga pants, Marika makes them in a higher rise compression if you have a bit of a tummy, if you are looking for affordable, check out Marshall's or Ross. They always have name brand athletic pants for cheap.
