Hi Everyone! 

 SO. I've been dreaming about creating a burlesque act for a year or so. I'm a musical theatre actress/singer/dancer, but something about burlesque really catches my interest. 

My strength is definitely singing. Nothing makes me happier than singing. Except maybe Swarovski crystal covered shoes or something.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE classic old songs/old hollywood especially Judy Garland.

I guess my question is...Do you think it would be lame to have an act that was me singing while doing a burlesque routine? I know I can't possibly be the first one to do something like this, but I don't want it to come off as some lame knock off of the Cher/Christina movie-- that was more cabaret than burlesque, but I feel like I should play to my strengths. 

I was thinking of a cute routine to "Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart" or something.

^^^I know it's not Christmas yet (FOUR MONTHS, GUYS. FOUR.), but it's the only good quality recording of a Judy Garland song that I have at the moment

Now that you have a feel for my style of singing...What do you think? Would hardcore classic burlesque performers brush me off as some lame lounge singing act (haha)?
