I'm wondering if anyone here has had any dealings with UK-based Bubble Betty?

No, but WOW! Those are AMAZING! I have a rain bonnet from my grandmother's estate but it's more of a one time use thing. So I never have used it. The Rainy season is coming soon here in LA. And I would love one of these!  Edit: I just looked at both their twitter and facebook. They don't seem to be a good company to buy from. Their last tweet was July 4th and before that was almost a year ago. So sad it looked like a great product.

Yep, that's why I was asking.  I ordered from them almost three weeks ago and haven't heard hide nor hair from them since :(

I think it's time to contact your bank and dispute the charge. What a shame. This looked like something very cool.

Definitely!  I wondered why they were using Google checkout, and found out yesterday that it's nigh on impossible to cancel your order, as a customer.  I should get a break in the day tomorrow in which I can call my bank, but I'm so gutted I'm going to have to :(

OMG! So Google has totally discontinued Google Checkout. Man, the more research I do, the more dodgy this Bubble Betty gets. The rain bonnet is such a great idea. Hopefully some one can pick a similar design to theirs and set up a shop that is for real.

Yea, but I meant Google Wallet (oops, long week!) which is what I actually went through.  Still, there's basically nothing I can do as a customer through that to cancel it or complain.

I agree, I wish I had half an idea of how to get a business up and running because I would just steal that idea and be better at it lol

try using Indiegogo or kickstarter to fund it :)

OK, so we've got the funding, but where do I go for supplies of awesome waterproof fabric, or someone who can print some?  And what about a pattern?  lol  And I'm no good at stuff like this so I'd need someone to come up with an awesome name for them too...

well let's see, theoretically you could start on Etsy until you are making enough sales to warrant launching a website so I guess that you could find waterproof fabric or get a waterproof fabric spray and then use a sewing machine to put them together, waterproof the hell out of each one and sell?
