Hi!

Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping your blouses, sweaters and shirts from riding up, underneath a pencil skirt? I have been having trouble with this....ideas?

Thanks!

the trick is "nanna undies" the high waist ones, I get ones with slight tummy support so they're a bit tight to keep my tops in place, or in cooler weather tights/stockings worn over the top of my top do the trick :)

Hi Bonnie Lynn! Ashima is correct; high waist panties are the way to go, as well as shapers you might wear beneath your pencil skirts. I have also heard of people using double sided tape, but I have never tried that and don't see how that would be very comfortable after a while but hey, anything is worth a shot;)!

thanks ladies! i will try all of those options! :)

Hey Bonnie! I hope you don't mind that I shared this post on my last blog entry, I thought that the question and the advice you got were both really important to know.

I'll definitely be going the "nanna undies" route like Ashima and Jill suggested the next time I use the blouse/sweater/shirt tucked into the pencil skirt combination too:)

I would love if blouses came in leotard-model. Then they would finally be comfy under high pants and skirts...

You know I actually usually wear leotard/bodysuit styles with these, it's more comfortable, no bunching under the skirt, and of course no riding up!

Victoria's Secret has a button down shirt/body suit that I recently got in a seafoam green and a tan, but those colors no longer seem to be available.

It is SO handy and has been making me wish ALL my shirts had that nifty little crotch snap! :) So much so that last night I found myself brainstorming on how I could somehow add/fashion something to my PUG shirts to keep them from riding up without ruining the shirt! Maybe sew some snaps into the front and back of the shirt at the bottom, then get a piece of lace or something like on the VS shirt to snap into place to keep them tucked in? I don't know, but I feel ya, ladies. All my shape wear that works really well comes up really high (yay! no bulges!) so I don't know that tucking the shirt into them is an option. I guess granny-panties do make sense. :) I love this forum! :)

I agree with the other gals, high waisted undies and tuck your shirt into your undies before putting on your skirt, yeah its not that attractive but it works for me!

Crotch stays (whichi is pretty much what your describing) ia a nifty little couture trick! Look it up on google and Im sure you could find some tips. X

I'm hitting google right now to find them, thanks paperdoll :)

I read something ages ago about an interview with Honor Blackman, she said a seamstress alters all her blouses and adds a 'body' to stop then from riding up. X

Thank you so much for sharing that Jessica! I had no idea that there was even such a thing as a crotch snap but I'm definitely going to be looking for shirts with them from now on :)

Don't you just love it when you find out about practical useful little inventions that you'd never heard of before? :)
